For some reason, I thought some parts dragged but I liked how in this parallel world, your soul "lives" outside of you in the form of a daemon. When you are a kid, your daemon changes into all sorts of animal forms then when you reached that certain age, the daemon settles. How philosophical!
I also liked the story of the armored bear and the witches. I was actually cheering for the bear during his fight with the king and when the witches came to the kids' rescue.
It would be much better if you read a short introduction of the film first. I came into the movie house a few minutes late and was a bit dazed by all these wonderful animals and creatures but I got by eventually. Haha!
I'm pretty sure there's a sequel for this because "the war" has just begun. Plus you do not see Nicole Kidman's face after she was stung by a mechanical bee.
