Who saw it already??!! It was shown in Manila last May 1 and I saw it the day after. Oh boy, I always looked forward to Spidey movies. I make it a point to watch it at the cinema.

Anyways, I might spoil some stuff for you if you haven't watched it, so you might as well skip this one or else you might punch my [virtual] face, but you'd end up punching your computer screen instead, so that's not really a good idea. HIT BACK or ALT+F4 NOW!!!

I like Spidey 3. I'm probably not the best reviewer, but here's my take on it... in random order.

1. If Peter was on the dumps in the last movie, now it's Mary Jane's time to see her life going down the drain. I don't know if it's just me, but I did not sympathize with her character this time. I was more interested with the other characters than her.

2. I thought Eddie's motivation to seek revenge was not enough. Probably if Gwen had more intimate scenes with Peter, and Eddie found out that Gwen and Peter are in the same class as lab partners, then it could justify his hate for Peter, to the point of asking God to kill him. I mean, sure he lost his job because the "emo-haired" Peter exposed him to Daily Bugle, but it was entirely his fault anyway.

3. Peter + emo hair = HILARIOUS. Tobey Maguire has that boy-next-door face that the whole aggressive-and-dark image looks ridiculous on him. But I did love his scene at the phone where he was asking the landlord's daughter to feed him cookies. That was awesome. If I were the landlord's daughter, I probably would have jumped on him and made him forget about the cookies. HAHAHAHAHA

4. I feel bad for Harry. Harry's story is like Peter's story in Spiderman 2. He was looking for what he rightfully needed to do. I just wish though that there was an explanation about how he feels for his dad the moment he found out it was his dad's fault that he died. That part of the story was left hanging. His sacrifice at the end kind of cleared some things. It just meant that he wasn't going to end up like his father. But I really don't know if it meant that he hated his father, or he understood what his father went through. I'm not sure.

5. Thomas Haden Church (Flint Marko / The Sandman) was scary-looking. He's still out there, and it was great that Spidey didn't finish him off. There's no return though. He can't be with his daughter anymore because he's Sandman. And I was wondering if the money he looted from the banks did go to his daughter. It wasn't shown at all. He just kept looking at his locket. That's it. Where did the money go?! Did it become mud or something?

6. As I've said, Gwen Stacy lacked exposure. He could have been another villain in the movie in her own rights, just by being in between Peter and Mary Jane. Although Gwen did not intend to be the third wheel (You would know when she walked out of the bar after "emo-haired" Peter had a production number), I just hope her character had been given more depth, like her character was indeed weaved in the plot or something like that. Bryce Dallas Howard is a pretty girl. I'm sure lots of other girls would like to hate her because she is gorgeous.

7. Holy crap, Harry's butler spoke up after being very submissive to the Osborns. That was interesting.

8. The scene where you could see the sunset while Peter and Mary Jane were grieving for their loss at a building, aaah that was great if it was real. The view looked fake. I think it's impossible to get that shot because the light from the sun would reflect on the camera. It had to be fake.

9. Black Spidey looked like a freakin gargoyle when he was contemplating at the church.

10. If only Peter didn't have much narration at the last part of the movie. That kind of ruined it for me. I already understood. Don't spoonfeed me with that sort of information. The scenes already spoke for themselves. You don't have to explain to everyone the moral lesson.

11. The ending was bittersweet. It's a great ending. I thought there was really closure in the movie, that I can conclude there won't be Spiderman 4 anymore. Unless they want an overkill.... like...

12. THE RUNNING JOKE ABOUT THE DOOR. Oh please. That was too much.

Hope you enjoy it. I always liked Spidey. I didn't bother to watch X-men 3 anymore, but I can't bare to miss Spidey 3. I can live without watching The Incredible Hulk, Superman, or Daredevil, but not Spiderman. Spidey's close to my heart. I remember the time I sat through Spiderman 2 and I cried. I did cry over Spiderman 2, believe me. It was shown during the time I had personal issues with what I needed to do, and what I had to leave behind. It was a big sacrifice to me, that I felt useless right after I made such decision. I could not help but cry watching Spiderman. It sounds pathetic, but I could not careless.

Now that Spidey is over (I suppose), I'll just look forward to the next Harry Potter movie. And no, I won't watch Pirates of the Carribean. I have no patience watching pirates because I could not relate to it. The only pirates I know are those on the streets selling cheap DVDs.
